Genetics and General Information

Skywalker OG, also known as Skywalker OG Kush, is an indica dominant strain that usually expresses both heavy and euphoric traits. Its lineage includes Skywalker (Blueberry OG and Mazar, both known for an excellent body buzz and some pain mitigation ) and OG Kush., . But Skywalker OG isn’t just a typical “couch lock” type of indica. It’s known for waves of happy happy joy joy energy as well.  Users describe the Skywalker OG high as a very heavy stoney high that leaves you utterly couch-locked, relaxed, and lethargic with an almost overwhelming case of the munchies. This is accompanied by a head-in-the-clouds euphoric head high that fades into a deep and peaceful sleep upon the come down. Due to these potent effects, Skywalker OG is an ideal strain for treating patients suffering from conditions such as chronic stress, pain due to injury or illness, and mild to moderate cases of depression.

Grinding up a bowls worth of flower unleashes that classic Skywalker smell. A rich earthy kushy smell…so yummy. This is pretty good Skywalker. I just took my first hit of this batch and it’s very smooth. Usually I don’t start smoking till a couple hours before bedtime. If I want to start a few hours earlier but I’m not looking to be super active, Skywalker has long been one of my favorites. This strain is technically Skywalker OG which is simply enough Skywalker crossed with OG Kush. I suspect it will be a similar experience.

First hit and I feel a mild euphoria and body buzz happening. 2nd hit was a big one, with a long slow exhale. I really like the taste of this strain. Can something taste earthy and clean? That’s what I’m going with. I’ve been in this industry for a long, long time. I remember back just after Prop 215 passed and things were starting to happen. I met a guy who ran one of the early stores (can’t remember the name) in California that sold clones. He told me about a grower he knew named Luke who had been bringing in these awesome clones and I should get some and grow it. I asked what it was called and he said the grower had a name they didn’t like and since the grower was named Luke they just called it Skywalker. Is this the true origin of Skywalker? Who knows, but its fun to think in could be!

Ok, I’m pretty high; I feel euphoric and have a warm body tingle. Random thought…these reviews really force me to take notice and be fully aware of my high…of how GOOD I feel. This I think can be a good thing for anyone to do, make sure you take time to really absorb and feel that healing energy that good weed can bring.  About 30 minutes in and a 3rd hit in my body , a calming wave crashed over me and my brain downshifted. For me this would be prime video game head space. No time for that, but I can get some chores done with a smile on my face :)

Chores done, bowl cleared and time for my nightly walk before bed. This was a fun review. For me this is not a super heavy indica that will make me want to go right to the couch or bed. I can still function. But after a bowl or two and 2-3 hours it will transition and help me to a good, restful sleep. Chilled and happy pretty much sums it up and I was able to resist any of the potential obvious references till now now …The force is with you, young Skywalker.

Medicinal Uses:

THC dominant Indica strains such as Skywalker OG tend to act as more of a sedative or relaxant for most people.  Many patients have reported great success in treating the symptoms of medical conditions such as anxiety, chronic pain, insomnia, muscle spasms, digestive issues and tremors.

Some people, particualry those who have been diagnosed ADD or ADHD can have the Indica/Sativa scale flip on them.  For many of these patients Indicas will provide the effects typical of Sativas.  This can cause THC dominant Indica strains such as Skywalker OG to tend to act as more of a stimulant with a cerebral or "heady" high.   These patients will likely have better success treating symptons in the areas of appetite stimulation, relieving depression, migraines, chronic pain and nausea.
